What is microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a physical exfoliation. Using a microderm machine, finely ground aluminum crystals are gently sprayed at the skin and vacuumed away. This process loosens and removes the surface dead skin cells. Microderm is a great complimentary treatment to more aggressive procedures such as peels or laser resurfacing.

Does microderm hurt?
No. The process for microdermabrasion is much like a facial. Your skin will be gently cleansed prior to the treatment. Many people describe the feeling like being “licked by a cat”. It is slightly rough and gently tugs, but very comfortable. Post treatment, a moisturizer and sun screen will be applied.

How many treatments do I need?
That depends on what your goals are. For all our clients, we recommend that you consider a series of treatments that includes microderms, peels, and more aggressive laser treatments. If you just want a quick pick-me-up, a single treatment is fine, but if you want to tighten pores, soften fine lines, smooth rough texture or lighten discoloration, then our Skin Care Membership Program is the ideal solution.
